During a coordination meeting with the European Head of Delegation/Ambassador to Jordan, the Director General of the National Agricultural Research Center- NARC, Dr. Nizar Haddad, expressed his felicity on Her Ecellency’’s visit to NARC that addressed cooperation approaches with partners to enhance capacity development leading to a sustainable agricultural sector, through the projects funded by the European Union and implemented at NARC. He also stated that this visit was planned to discuss the projects’‘ work plan for the year 2020, to come out with recommendations that would overcome challenges and increase opportunities for development and modernization of pioneering projects in line with national strategies.
During the meeting, Haddad briefed the visiting delegation about the projects funded by the European Union and implemented at NARC, namely, cross border living laboratories for agroforestry, promoting sustainable irrigation management & non-conventional use in the Mediterranean, non-conventional water reuse in agriculture in Mediterranean countries, and enhancing the social inclusion of needs.
European Head of Delegation/Ambassador to Jordan, Her Excellency Ms. Maria Hadjitheodosiou, valued the role of NARC in managing agricultural projects through efforts in the field of scientific research, along with the scientific position NARC possesses and its ability to attract and implement pioneering projects. In return, Her Excellency affirmed their support for these projects through which NARC can contribute to the improvement of the agricultural sector.
